This is a magnificent specimen of the Acer negundo 'Variegatum' (Ghost Maple) in Mum's Garden which can be seen from the kitchen window. When we were on the farm we had one growing outside the kitchen window too. It had a split trunk which made it easy for the kids to climb on the lower branches. It was nick named the "Friendly" tree for that reason. We have planted one in Camelot Garden that can easily be seen through the lounge room windows because we love the soft colored foliage and seed pods that dangle from the brances.
