Another stunning coast scene where the water was a soft emerald green, sands were white and huge boulders took on the shape of a herd of elephants. Green Pools is William Bay National Park, Denmark, Western Australia. The tree top walk has been built so that you can really appreciate the giant Tingle tree forest. The board walk leads through the forest at ground level and highlights the huge gnarly trunks of the ancient trees.
Walpole was a tiny town with a well planned walkway through the scrub to the beach. I particular remember the walk for the flock of blue wrens that we upset on the way back. There were all sorts of little wrens making a fuss trying to lead us away from what must of been a nest somewhere. I am sure that one was a rarely seen Southern Emu Wren as it had a long whispy tail but it was shy and quickly out of sight. Beedelup Falls was an unexpected delight that we found along our way. Clearly a site that tourists stop by and visit as it was well cared for with parking and signage.
We spent an afternoon in Jewel Cave one of the tourist attractions near Margaret River. It was well worth the time. http://www.margaretriver.com/tours/7707-jewel-cave-augusta
