I love wandering through the garden to see what's new. Nothing better than to find a treasure like these Lilliums that were hidden under the Acacia Limelight. The tree is holding up the long stemmed Lillies and protecting them from the harsh weather. They look very happy!
These pink Lilies are in my mum's garden. They have a subtle pink throat and look exquisite. We accuse Mum of having the local Botanical Gardens as she has a large block full of exotic and unusual plants, beautiful trees, roses and flowers for every season of the year. My brothers and sisters and I have inherited a love of gardening from our mother. When we were young Mum and Dad owned a small dairy farm. We (there were 5 of us quite close in age) would help Mum milk the cows while Dad worked off the farm to make ends meet. It was hard work and quite physical compared to today's milking sheds. Mum's "time out" form a busy family and farm was to work outside in the garden. From the earliest time I can remember, there was always a garden full of flowers and vegetables around our family home. |
