These are some more of the faux birds that Mum has around in her garden. We grew up on a farm that always had "chooks" with chickens and ducks with ducklings. The duck eggs had very hard shells so when they were close to hatching time Mum used to put them in the oven of our old combustion stove and dampen the shells to soften them. She'd help the ducklings break through and then have to keep them in a box for the first couple of weeks to look after them. The ducklings often thought we were there parents as we were the first things they'd see when they would hatch..
These are some of Mum's ducks that she has decorating her garden. She would love some real ones and they would fit in well with the menagerie that she already but they wouldn't be safe without a fenced enclosure.
