The sunlight reflecting through the dew drops make the silken thread visible in the bare branches of the trees.
The same Forest Pansy with the autumn colors accentuating the heart shape of the leaves. Archie in his usual pose under the tree. Thanks to Ella for this photo who was babysitting dogs house and garden while we were away.
I'm sure you can tell I'm from Victoria because I doubt that any Queenslanders would be taking photos of palm tree flowers.
These are the stunningly coloured leaves of the Rubylace Gledistia (Gleditsia triacanthos var. inermis 'Rubylace').
(Mum always says that you don't always need flowers if you have the right foliage plants in your garden.) This is a magnificent specimen of the Acer negundo 'Variegatum' (Ghost Maple) in Mum's Garden which can be seen from the kitchen window. When we were on the farm we had one growing outside the kitchen window too. It had a split trunk which made it easy for the kids to climb on the lower branches. It was nick named the "Friendly" tree for that reason. We have planted one in Camelot Garden that can easily be seen through the lounge room windows because we love the soft colored foliage and seed pods that dangle from the brances.
In the Dandenong Hospital Car Park there is one magnificent tree. It obviously existed long before the car park so congratulations to whoever was responsible for not removing it. We try to park underneath it for the shade.
The dogs love to play in the garden especially when we are out walking around or working there too. Under the Forest Pansy is one of the places that they can check out what is happening in the park next door.
I love the soft shade of yellow in this wattle on Mum's drive. This must be an autumn flowering version because we usually see them in spring.
