We disturbed this handsome specimen in the garden when we were planting our new roses. You can read more about them here.
We have been meaning to plant new roses in the front garden extension since last spring but it has rained so much this year that every hole we dug filled up with water. This weekend was perfect for planting so we bought 9 new rose bushes to put in the garden.
The aphids on this leaf reminded me of cattle in a paddock. They were all facing the same way just as cows often do when they are grazing in a paddock. What is the correct term for a "herd" of aphids?
This is a photo (well a screen shot) of a Wordle. It is a summary of the program that I run at school- LEEP (Lodger's Elearning Extension Program). This week the students and I have been discussing what is expected if you are in the LEEP program.
These are the Geraniums that are flowering in Mum's hanging baskets and pots around the back veranda. They add a splash of colour along the brick walls.
The center of the Gerbera is amazingly intricate.
The Brugmansia is an amazing plant with large pendulous trumpet like flowers that have a beautiful scent in the early evening. It is native to South America and all parts of the plant are toxic.
I have climbing spinach in my vege garden. Not only is it edible but really quite attractive. The stems are covered in bundles of pink flowers with the heart shaped leaves just waiting to be picked. I think this would be a great vegetable to plant in a pot to keep on the veranda.
