Potentially our last spring in this garden (depending on our new house being built on time) so I thought it was timely to resurrect my blogging and garden photos.
The garden is particularly beautiful this year, probably because of the mild winter - we didn't have one of those devastating frosts as we have done every other year we have lived here. The plants have recovered from winter quickly. I want one of these in my garden. The out-door dunny at Tesselaar Gardens -Gardening and Rare Plants Expo.
This Sedum plant at the Rare Plant Expo couldn't make up its mind if it was pink or white. I checked and it was definitely on one plant.
Today we went to Silvan to the Gardening and Rare Plant Expo. It was a superb autumn day and we (Mum and friend, me and hubby) made a boot full of purchases. It was a beautiful garden setting with just the right number and variety of stalls to keep our interest.
Morning dew has a perfect droplet on each of the jagged sections of the rose leaves. The new pink growth is very pretty with its crystal jewellery.
I used this photo in the Teacher Blogging Challenge today. The topic was "What makes a good blog post". The old wooden post is part of the ornamental fence around my vegetable garden. The finished graphic was created using Comic Life on my iPad.
I do love the Zantedeschia rehmannii - Arum or Calla Lilies that are flowering in my garden at the moment. Equally I detest the greeny/white weed version that is virtually impossible to get rid of once it has found a home.
This brilliantly coloured rose was harboring a hitch hiker. The creature appeared to be soaking up the colour from the rose itself in an effort to hide.
I believe this is a Katydid (commonly known as a bush cricket or long horned grasshopper) who normally has pinkish legs anyway. I wonder if the little holes in the petals are where it had its dinner? |
