This one is Ella's favourite from the set of garden pics that she took this week. I think this plant is commonly known as the pincushion and you can see why when looking at this magnified image of the seed pods that have been left behind after the flower has finished.
Today's post is a guest post. The 365 challenge is becoming a family challenge with my daughter helping out with some pictures she has taken with her digital camera using the macro setting. It will be interesting to see if there is much difference in our styles.
A jeweled little sea creature that was in the rock pools at the The Colonnades Beach at Cape Woolamai The perfect autumn day at the beach.
If you haven't already noticed - I like to make collages in this photo blog. Sometimes it is just too hard to pick one photo for each day. At the moment the Camilias are all just coming into flower so it is almost impossible to choose one photo.
It also occurred to me that there might be "an app for that" on my iPad so I searched the App store for photo collage applications. After a little bit of trial and error I found a free app called Photo Mess that allows you to import your photos, resize them, turn them and choose where they sit in the layer. You can frame them and add some effects as well. I will be adding Photo Mess to the list of collage applications along with Picasa, and iPhoto that I use regularly. This year I was made aware that you can by Fair Trade chocolate which means that everyone gets paid fairly for their work and contributions to the end product. We had left it a bit late to find enough Fair Trade Easter eggs for the family so my daughter did a last minute shop for chocolate and molds that we could take with us on our Easter family holiday to make the eggs. We found out that it is quite tricky to make attractive, hollow eggs. The most successful ones turned out to be small, solid blocks set in ice-cube trays ;-) So we called this year our "experimental, transitiona yearl" next year we will be better prepared.
This is a selection of the magazines that the family brought with them to read on our holiday to Cowes. Nice range!
The same Forest Pansy with the autumn colors accentuating the heart shape of the leaves. Archie in his usual pose under the tree. Thanks to Ella for this photo who was babysitting dogs house and garden while we were away.
